DeHart Recycling Equipment Inc. was founded in 1947 by Glen DeHart Sr. The company truly carved its niche when Glen DeHart Jr. transitioned the business into the industrial recycling equipment industry in 1974. His vision was to provide specialized equipment and services to local paper and metal recycling facilities, laying the groundwork for what would become a cornerstone in the industry.

The company's steadfast commitment to quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction fueled its steady growth and expansion. DeHart Recycling Equipment Inc. strategically broadened its product portfolio, now offering a diverse range of cutting-edge technologies from industry-leading manufacturers. Complementing these offerings, the company also became proficient in frame-up rebuilds—restoring existing machinery to like-new condition—and began manufacturing its own line of industrial conveyors.

A significant chapter in the company's history unfolded in 2003 when Sean Justen and John Messerly acquired the business. Under their stewardship, DeHart continued its trajectory of growth, leading to a move in 2008 to a larger, 26,000 sqft facility in Hazelwood, Missouri, to better serve its expanding customer base.
